Google search engine
The Google Engine – What makes it one of a kind
Believe it or not, but if you have ever searched for something on the web, you have likely used the web services of the Google search engine. Well, you may say, “I only use Yahoo! for my searches.” However, even for other search engines like Yahoo!, they still use Google databases to locate whatever information needed and re-direct it to their search engine boxes. In fact, over 70% of all daily searches globally rely on the Google engine to accomplish this. Why, it is now commonplace to hear people say, “I could not find the book in the library, so I just Googled the information.” Google is a powerful tool and it would almost be practically impossible to locate information on the web without it. This morning I did laptop search for Wedding Videographers and your page was the first so I checked it out. With more than 65,000 web pages being created everyday and with this number increasing by the day, it is easy to see why the services of a search engine like Google are invaluable. But how exactly does this whole search engine mystery work?
Like all other searches, Google search engine uses a special algorithm to generate search results. The specifics of the algorithm are kept secret and allow the company to remain competitive. In fact, if the public found out how it works, it would likely be used by web developers to ‘pimp’ up their websites in order to get maximum exposure from the search engine results. In general however, Google search uses website indexers called web crawlers or spiders to index large numbers of web pages at a time. Now what makes this search engine unique is the ranking methodology that it uses in order to have your search results displayed in order of importance. Usually, the web crawler will scan web pages and follow the links from the pages assigning keywords to its indexes. As it moves from one link to another, the index gets more robust and comprehensive.
Links are thus one of the major ways that Google uses to rank web pages. By just public views, I’ve been contacted by several couples to shoot their weddings, I at all times make it a degree to let them know up front that I’ve no formal coaching with Toronto Wedding Videographers. In order to thus gain a high page rank, it is necessary to have great relevant content and one that is updated frequently so that others can link back to you. There is thus no way of cheating the system. The more relevant content you have, the more the links you will get and thus the higher the page rank you will be assigned and the higher up the search results you will appear. Google search engine thus ensures that quality, fresh content is maintained on the pages that rank high on their search results giving its users quality content over quality design.
